OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) crews extracted two drivers trapped in their vehicles following a severe head-on collision Saturday night in northeast Ocala.
The wreck happened in the 7600 block of NE 7th St. around 10:09 p.m., prompting an immediate response from multiple MCFR units. Firefighters from Rolling Greens Station #28 arrived at the scene within five minutes, finding both vehicles with extensive damage.
Additional support arrived from Engine #1, Heavy Rescue #2, Battalion Chief #3, and Critical Care #1 to assist with the complex extrication process and provide emergency medical care to the victims.
MCFR says that both drivers were successfully freed from their vehicles and declared trauma alerts before being transported to a local trauma center. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
