MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A wreck on I-75 in Marion County claimed one life and sent several people to area hospitals on Thursday around 5:52 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a pickup truck driven by a 65-year-old man from Apopka lost control while traveling southbound in the left lane near mile marker 365, between County Roads 318 and 326. The vehicle collided with the center median guardrail, overturned, and crossed into the northbound lanes.

FHP says that the overturned truck struck a car driven by a 42-year-old woman from Albany, GA, who was traveling northbound in the left lane. Debris from the crash also struck an SUV driven by a 41-year-old man from Sharpsburg, GA, in the same lane.
All three occupants of the pickup truck—its driver, a 74-year-old man, and a 57-year-old man, both from Orlando—were transported to local hospitals. The truck’s driver was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The car’s driver and her passengers, two girls aged 12 and 7, were also hospitalized, along with the SUV driver.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
