OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A 54-year-old Reddick man died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, after his pickup truck veered off the roadway and overturned, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue. A 33-year-old female passenger was transported to Shands Hospital in Gainesville in critical condition.

The crash happened near mile marker 372, approximately two miles before County Road 234. Preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was traveling northbound in the center lane when it veered left across the west shoulder and into the center median.

The vehicle collided with a guardrail, rotated counter-clockwise, and overturned onto its left side. It came to rest facing southeast in the median.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
