MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Looking for a way to keep the kids active, engaged, and well-fed this summer—without spending a dime? The Marion County Public Library System is once again offering a solution for families with its Summer BreakSpot program, providing free meals and enriching programs for children 18 and under from June 2 through Aug. 8.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and supported statewide by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, Summer BreakSpot aims to ensure kids have access to nutritious meals during the summer break when school cafeterias are closed.

Programs and meals will take place at various public library locations throughout the county. Each site offers both an interactive library program and a meal, scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesdays
    • Belleview Public Library – 10 a.m. program, noon meal
    • Reddick Public Library – noon program and meal
  • Wednesdays
    • Fort McCoy Public Library – 10:30 a.m. program, 11:30 a.m. meal
    • Headquarters-Ocala Public Library – 11 a.m.–4 p.m. program, noon meal
  • Thursdays
    • Freedom Public Library – 11 a.m. program, 12:30 p.m. meal
  • Fridays
    • Dunnellon Public Library – 10:30 a.m. program, noon meal
    • Forest Public Library – 11 a.m. program, 12:30 p.m. meal
