CITRUS COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Citrus County has released its 2025 annual report, “Citrus by the Numbers,” highlighting accomplishments and progress made throughout the year. In 2025, Citrus County focused on hurricane recovery efforts, secured record grant funding, and made improvements to infrastructure, public safety and community services.

Completed projects include:

  • Major renovations to the Lakes Region Library and Coastal Region Library
  • Phase II of the offshore artificial reef
  • Renovations to the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum
  • The Cambridge Greens Septic-to-Sewer Project
  • The CR-491 roadway expansion

Citrus County served more than 44,000 meals to seniors in need, assisted nearly 5,000 veterans, provided over 65,000 bus trips and paved 72 miles of local roads. The county also received national recognition for creating six innovative programs that serve residents.

“Through hard work, planning and intentional decision-making, we continue to achieve new milestones. We’ve tracked 301 this year,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “I applaud the hard work and dedication of Team Citrus, which is why my focus for the coming year is ‘Success Through Collaboration.’ I truly believe that when we come together as a community, the sky is the limit to what we can achieve.”
