OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala City Council on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, unanimously approved a contract to bring annual air shows to Ocala International Airport for three years.

The three-year contract is with JLC AirShow Management, which is already promoting the “Wings Over Ocala Florida Airshow” as scheduled for April 30-May 2, 2027, including the copy, “The sky will roar once again as the Blue Angels take flight in an unforgettable air show over Ocala, Florida.”

The contract reportedly leaves most of the responsibility for the show with JLC; the estimated cost to the city is around $38,000, for law enforcement, fire/safety and medical resources. The deal also reportedly includes $100,000 annually to the producers from the Marion County Tourist Development Tourist Development Council, for title sponsorship.

The city does stand to make money, though, as net revenues over $300,000 would be split 70/30 between JLC and the city. An impact summary estimates the event could bring in over $4 million.

In addition to the Blue Angels demonstration, possible additional attractions might include other aerial performers, vintage military aircraft flights, airplane and helicopter displays and photo ops, fireworks and a drone show.

Though much of this isn’t set in stone, JLC already has a website up for the event, where interested parties can start buying tickets (at yet-unnamed prices) on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

An old Blue Angels schedule archived online suggests the last time the famed flight demonstration squadron appeared in Ocala was March 23, 1969. If anyone knows of a more recent Blue Angels demo in the area, please let us know!
