OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Marion Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) has announced that the May 2026 meetings of its Citizen’s Advisory Committee and Technical Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, May 12.
These meetings are open to the public.
What the TPO is, to quote from their online mission statement, is “a federally mandated and locally governed agency responsible for planning, prioritizing and coordinating transportation projects, including highway, transit, rail, bicycle, pedestrian, aviation and paratransit. The TPO works to improve the transportation system of Marion County by developing a variety of plans and programs.”
The Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC), like the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), is made up of community leaders and professionals who help advise the TPO’s small staff and board on critical issues our community faces in terms of transportation needs and improvements.
The CAC will meet at 1 p.m. May 12; the TAC will meet directly after, at 2:30 p.m.
Meeting agenda items:
- Central Florida MPO Alliance Regional Priority Pojects
- Draft Fiscal Years 2027-2031 Transportation and Improvement Program
- Draft 2026 List of Priority Projects
These are things concerned citizens may want to become involved in, or become more fully informed on.
The meetings take place in the Marion County Growth Services Training Room at 2710 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
