MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Veterans Services, the county department dedicated to helping those who served access their due Veterans Administration (VA) federal benefits, will be hosting three “benefits briefing” outreach events around the county this summer.
“The veterans briefing program helps veterans living in more remote areas of the county to easily obtain information and assistance at a location closer to their home,” the announcement said. “After a benefits overview by Marion County Veterans Services, attendees have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the department’s staff for assistance with applications or to obtain answers to their benefit-related questions.”
Summer benefits briefing events:
- June 6 – Belleview Public Library, 13145 SE County Highway 484, Belleview
- June 20 – Silver Springs Shores Community Center, 590 Silver Road, Ocala
- August 22 – Marion Oaks Community Center, 294 Marion Oaks Lane, Ocala
All three events run from 10 a.m. until noon.
“Veterans Services staff identifies each veteran’s eligibility and assists with the application process for benefits, including, but not limited to, disability compensation, pension, appeals, widow’s pension, death pension, dependency and indemnity compensation, education, home loans, and healthcare assistance,” read the announcement.
