MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Severe thunderstorms raced through parts of Ocala and greater Marion County on the afternoon of Saturday, July 11, 2026, knocking down tree limbs and knocking out power.
Following a severe thunderstorm warning distributed via text messaging and phone calls through the Alert Marion system at approximately 3:15 p.m., the summer weather made good on that warning. Areas in the northern and northeastern regions of Marion County appeared to be the hardest hit, with the storms stretching into Alachua, Putnam and Bradford counties.





According to online resource PowerOutage.us, power has been completely restored in Marion County, but the Ocala Star-Banner’s Off The Grid Power Outage Tracker (and comments on 352Today’s social media) says different–their data is reporting around 500 homes are still without power.
At the peak of yesterday’s storms, approximately 3,500 homes in Marion County lost power according to available data.
