OCALA, FL. (352today) – This week’s sweet pup is as strong and energizing as the Ocean. Her hips move like waves, and they do not lie. Ocean, nicknamed Shakira, is happily wagging her tail as she waits for her forever home at Marion County Animal Services.
Ocean was a stray that arrived at Marion County Animal Services after following a deputy home on a walk with his dog. In the shelter, she would often be overlooked in her kennel when overly excited, which some found intimidating. About a month ago, Ocean was taken in by a foster family who has helped her with training and provided a calmer space for this sweet pup.
She has since flourished into a wonderful pup that the foster family loves. They noted that Ocean is very trainable, as she is treat- and food-motivated, without any resource guarding. She may be a little strong on the leash, but with continued training, she will be a perfect adventure companion. She gets along great with kids and other pets, is great in the car, and loves to cuddle on the couch. Ocean’s breed is unknown, but what is certain is that she was made of pure happiness and love.
